Dear ÖzÜ Members,
The “The Journey of Water – Water Use Awareness” seminar, organized within the scope of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and the Water Efficiency Project carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, was held on March 24, 2026, on our campus in observance of World Water Day (March 22).
The seminar, which aimed to raise sustainability awareness, was implemented as carbon neutral. The carbon footprint generated during the event was calculated, and a total of 1 ton of CO₂ equivalent emissions was offset by contributing to renewable energy projects with the support of Commited. The offsetting process was carried out through Gold Standard-certified carbon credits, and the relevant certificate is attached.
Within the scope of the seminar:
- Information was provided on the sustainable use of water resources and water efficiency,
- An expert trainer from İSKİ shared data on water management and current practices.
The event was conducted within the scope of TRL202/204 Responsible Citizenship and TRL102/104 Personal Development courses, in collaboration with the Duyarlı ÖzÜ Volunteering Program and HSE Community, with contributions from the Social Change Volunteers Office, Sustainability & QHSE, OLTE, and Operations teams.
