Erdi Tüzün from Sustainability and QHSE Department Attended Panel at TÜBİTAK High School

Erdi Tüzün, engineer at the Sustainability and QHSE Department at Özyeğin University, attended a panel aimed at empowering youth engagement in sustainable development. Organized by TÜBİTAK High School, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and held at TÜBİTAK UME Conference Hall in Gebze on May 15, 2025, the event marked the premiere of the innovative “What If?” debate concept, developed by TÜBİTAK High School students, which reimagines traditional debate by integrating project development and fundraising for implementable solutions.

Moderated by Yasemen Aslı Karataş, Programme Associate at FAO Türkiye, the SDG Awareness Panel brought together speakers, including Bülent Açıkgöz, Partnerships and Development Finance Officer at the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Türkiye; Emre Üçkardeşler, Head of Social Policy Section at UNICEF Türkiye. Panel discussions centered around the crucial role of youth in tackling global challenges such as climate change, food security, and social inequality.
